Business Development Manager (Northern Region)

Base office to be agreed 

Salary: depending on experience

Laptop, Mobile Phone, Company Car 

As Business Development Manager at The Mansfield Group you’ll share your time equally between new business development and account managing. We’ll look to you to identify profitable opportunities to grow year-on-year sales and ensure the new relationships you forge grow from strength to strength.Providing detailed financial evaluations and business plans to optimise the value of each opportunity will be part and parcel of the role.

We are looking for a genuine sales-orientated individual, motivated by developing mature business and forming new relationships – something we’ll be able to see in your strong track record of sales success.

Commercially minded and financially fluent, you’ll ideally bring an interest in the highly competitive Breakdown Recovery sector helping to ensure we continue as the UK & Europe’s largest independent breakdown provider. And it goes without saying that you’re an excellent negotiator, communicator and influencer.

 Key Attributes - Business Development Manager

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and judgment for dealing with colleagues in all regions of the country and at all levels in the organisation.

Roadside Patrols - Stoke on Trent, Birmingham, Coventry, Northampton

We are looking for dedicated Roadside Patrol Technicians for our service centres! Flexible shifts. Full training will be given, however candidates must have some workshop/ patrol experience. 

The successful candidate will be attending The Mansfield Group customers who have become stranded at the roadside, the aim is to repair the vehicle and get the customer moving, using your expert technical knowledge, to resolve a wide range of issues, battery faults, wheel changes, engine and brakes, to name a few, along with ‘taking control’ of the situation and reassuring the customers that you will provide an excellent service, ‘do whatever it takes’, with a calming approach, which for some customers may be stressful or upsetting.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Adapting your knowledge and skills at the roadside, and working direct with members of the public

  • Flexibility, ability to work under pressure, has this is not a 9 to 5 career, and you will be required to work overtime at busy periods, to keep our customers moving

  • Can you see a job through to resolution, demonstrating a wide range of technical skills, working on various types of vehicles, plus Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or similar) from IMI, NVQ or City & Guilds

  • Ensure the optimum use of time and costs when undertaking diagnostic work by assessing The Mansfield Group's liability in respect of possible workshop and/or Recovery assistance as appropriate and arrange either as necessary in conjunction with the Operations Centre.

  • Keep abreast of technological and safety developments as they affect the diagnosis and repair of motor vehicles by maintaining an appropriate awareness of information circulated.

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of all types of vehicles called upon to be driven during the course of their duties.

  • Be fully conversant with all communication systems used within the technicians operations and ensure that all communication is maintained to the standards required by both The Mansfield Group and legislation.

Workshop Techicians - Leicester, Derby, Birmingham, Coventry, Northampton

The Primary Purpose of the role is to assist The Mansfield Group roadside teams with repairs to vehicles which cannot be repaired at the roadside, for customers who have become stranded and get the customer moving, using your expert technical knowledge, to resolve a wide range of issues, battery faults, wheel changes, engine and brakes, to name a few. This is an ideal role for a vehicle technician wishing to work on a wide range of light vehicles, dealing with all the diagnostics, fault finding and different types of repairs. You will also support the workshop team in ensuring The Mansfield Group fleet is maintained to a high standard.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Adapting your knowledge and skills and deliver an excellent level of service ,working direct with members of the publicThe role will involve organising and prioritising your workload in order to meet customers’ needs
  • Flexibility, ability to work under pressure, has this is not a 9 to 5 career, and you will be required to work overtime at busy periods, to get our customers back on the road
  • Can you see a job through to resolution, demonstrating a wide range of technical skills, working on various types of vehicles, plus Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or similar) from IMI, NVQ or City & Guilds
  • Be fully conversant with all communication systems used within the technicians operations and ensure that all communication is maintained to the standards required by both The Mansfield Group and legislation.

 

Commercial Recovery Technicians - Langley, Kent, Birmingham Coventry, Northampton, Stoke on Trent, hoddesdon, Milton Keynes, Bicester

The Primary Purpose of the role is to recover, fault find and repair if possible The Mansfield Group commercial customers who have become stranded at the roadside, following breakdown, or an accident. At all times working safely, ensuring the safety of yourself and customers, taking control’ of the situation and reassuring the customers that you will provide an excellent service, ‘do whatever it takes’, with a calming approach, which for some customers may be stressful or upsetting.    

Key Accountabilities:

  • Adapting your knowledge and skills at the roadside, and working direct with members of the public

  • Flexibility, ability to work under pressure, has this is not a 9 to 5 career, and you will be required to work overtime at busy periods, to keep our customers moving

  • A preference for experience of driving heavy recovery vehicles, and hold a category C1 +E driving licence along with DCPC and a Digital Drivers Card  

  • Can you see a job through to resolution, demonstrating a wide range of vehicle handling skills

Roadside Recovery Technicians - Birmingham, Coventry, Northampton

The Primary Purpose of the role is to attend to The Mansfield Group customers who have become stranded at the roadside, and the vehicle requires recovery to their home address, one of our many repair centres, or a suitable repair garage. ‘At all times working safely, ensuring the safety of yourself and customers, taking control’ of the situation and reassuring the customers that you will provide an excellent service, ‘do whatever it takes’, with a calming approach, which for some customers may be stressful or upsetting.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Adapting your knowledge and skills at the roadside, and working direct with members of the public

  • Flexibility, ability to work under pressure, has this is not a 9 to 5 career, and you will be required to work overtime at busy periods, to keep our customers moving

  • A minimum of a Category C Driving Licence, but a preference for CE licence along with DCPC and a Digital Drivers Card  

  • Can you see a job through to resolution, demonstrating a wide range of vehicle handling skills

  • Have the ability to operate and maximise the use of all modern equipment including computerised equipment, loading and unloading vehicles carefully

  • Be fully conversant with all communication systems used within the technicians operations and ensure that all communication
